Upon his Retirement

Upon his Retirement

As of June 30, 2014, my husband, Seong Koo Cho, M.D.,
Class of ’65, SNUCM retired from his medical practice
at the Radiology, inc. in Columbus, Ohio.

He finished his residency in 1974 at the Ohio State University
specializing in the General Diagnostic Radiology and Radiation Oncology,
appointed as an assistant professor at the OSU Medical School
until he joined the private practice at the Rad. Inc.,
    in Columbus, Ohio in 1976.
He remains as the longest served member in the Rad.inc.

On the pre-retirement off day, Friday, June 27,
I proposed him to go on a picnic with me, just two of us,
to the Old Man’s Cave, Hocking Hills, south of Columbus, Ohio.

I made Gim-Bap(Korean Sushi) early in the morning
just for two of us while he packed the ice box.

It was an auspiciously beautiful day entering full summer
and our first date toward his retirement was indeed enchanting.

He still wakes up at early hours, loves reading leisurely at his desk
from which his usual weekly working schedule vanished now.

He takes early morning walk around our neighborhood,
works in our small garden and enjoys more golf with his buddys.

He seems comfortably stepping into his new unknown sphere.
He frequently reminds me how much he likes the way it is now.

I also like having him home with me without any punctuation marks.

I am excited as much, if not more, as he is.
